CORNER CABINET
Due
to the demand for and the lack of availability of this type of cabinet
it was necessary to construct this one at Driscoll Antiques. It is
cabinet on top of cabinet with
the top door of leaded, beveled glass and the bottom door a raised
panel. The veneer is a rare African wood called padauk. The
appearance is similar to a deep red ribbon mahogany. The shelves
are adjustable and made of glass to enable the accenting light at the top
of the cabinet to illuminate to the bottom. The trim is gold leaf.
The hardware are antique reproductions that help give the piece an antique
feel. The finish is hand padded shellac with carnauba wax protection.
